Success story of  Karan, HIV child after loss of HIV positive parents

Transformed into school going boy-----

Master Karan is 6 years old and was infected with HIV through her mother during his birth. The boy lost both the parents when he was 2 years. He was under weight and had symptoms of tuberculosis when he was admitted. Karan was given comprehensive care at DESIRE which supported him to get cure from Opportunistic Infections (OIs), gradually he had gained weight. He was put on continuous medical care and monitoring by our clinical team. He was treated for TB(Tuberculosis) which eventually helped Karan to get started ART (Antiretroviral Treatment) which is very important for AIDS stage patients for further life span.

We hope, by offering continuum care & concern, we can give a rebirth to Karan as we did in case of baby Swathi in the past. Today, today surprisingly he is able to attend school regularly and scored highest attendance among all the children.
