A child loses a parent to AIDS related causes every 14 seconds
The number of children orphaned by AIDS increased from 14.6 million to 16.6 million between 2005-2009
Each day out of 7000 people newly infected with HIV, 1000 found are children.
India is a home to 1.1 lakhs HIV infected children.

Swathi

Swathi is a 3 years old girl. She is suffering with HIV virus, infected through her mother during her birth. Now she is in AIDS stage.

karan

Master Karan is 6 years old and was infected with HIV through her mother during his birth. The boy lost both the parents when he was 2 years.

Shankar

Master Shankar, age 13yrs and Weighing about 13kgs was taken into DESIE institutional care centre in 2008 when he was identified by DESIRE Staff as an orphan.
